Aims:Making students familiar with the main skills needed for future jobs and occupations and raising their awareness of what education and skills are needed to be able to pursue a given career. Practising Reading and Speaking skills and enlarging vocabulary related to the topic of employment.
Suggested # of students per group:15-20
Time of the main activity:15 minutes
Material:Laptop, projector, smartboard, mobile phones, pens, sheets of paper, exercise books.
Competences:English language competences, digital competences, personal competences, social competences, critical thinking.
Expected results:The students will get familiarized with some future jobs and occupations as well as the main skills that are required for these future careers.
Expected difficulties:SS have little knowledge about future jobs and occupations.
Follow up if any:SS choose a future job and write either
a) a short description OR
b) a job advertisement of it.

              6Preparatory part: Warm-up activity
Objective: To get tuned to the topic and elicit basic vocabulary related to jobs and professions.
⇨ T: Today we are going to talk about future jobs and the main skills that are needed for these jobs. What new jobs and occupations do you think will appear in the next decades?
⇨ Ss: Say some examples.
⇨ T: Now you will work in pairs to search the internet for some more jobs that will be in most-demand in the future. Share your findings with each other using MENTIMETER, the wordcloud generator.
⇨ T: Let’s see what you have found. (SS’s findings/answers are on display on the smartboard.)

Objective: To get to know the different skills that are needed for the future jobs.
⇨ T: Let’s take a look at some of the skills that will be in demand by employers in the next ten years. Now you are going to do an interactive task with the help of which you can find out about what skills the future employees need to have.  You will work individually on your mobile phones.
